The return of a horror classic opened this month and I have to say it did not disappoint. This fresh and modern take on a classic Stephen King story really helped bring the horror genre to a high again. The plot is well written and the acting was on point. The child actors were on point and gave the story a unique coming of age and innocence to this story which is not usually seen very often in modern horror movies. The child actors were funny and likeable for the audience. Of course the main antagonist of the movie Pennywise was a very odd and menacing villain. The frightfulness and unique style was shown right away in the first ten minutes of the movie.

This story has everything for many movie fans of this genre. It has heart, comedy, scary moments, and even a great story. The sequel which has been announced to arrive in 2019 will be unique as well. The director has already said Pennywise will have a deeper backstory and the story will have the "Loser's club" return as adults. This will make the movie have a different tone and scarier plot than chapter one of IT. I am looking forward to find out who will be cast as the adult versions and see the backstory of Pennywise shown on screen. I recommend this movie to any fan of horror or a good story. This movie reminds me of "The sandlot" meets "Nightmare on Elm Street".
