Happy New Year: A Fresh Start

2017 was a year full of changes which were positive and a few that were negative. The political landscape was in chaos which caused the public to truly show how divided our views really are. While the division between people was highlighted so was the connection and willingness to help others was demonstrated through marches. While social changes continued to grow the film industry had some changes as well.

Movies such as The Last Jedi, Thor Ragnarok, and Justice League made fans of all the genres create their own personal view on what a good movie should be and not let critics dictate what they view. While films had ups and downs so did the awareness on the misconduct of several actors. These cases brought light on how easily hidden crimes and sexual assault can go without being reported. While these cases were very sad and horrible to hear it did allow the victims along with the public to stand against these horrible people in power.

2017 had many changes as I mentioned before but on a personnel level I have met many new friends and gone through many new experiences. I graduated from UTSA with my bachelor's degree and stepped into the cosplay world. The cosplay world was something I never really understood until this year. Seeing how creative and detailed people got with their designs was really awesome to see. Seeing the looks on the kids when a cosplayer steps into a room is just amazing. They help breath life into the characters they choose to be. I am glad to see this world/hobby continue to grow. I have a great feeling about 2018 and feel as if changes will be coming. I hope everyone has a great start to their new year.
